Nickelodeon Thanksgiving

Hello Everyone,

It is now the holiday season. This Thursday is Thanksgiving. I don't know about you but I LOVE the holiday season. I love spending time with family, the decorations, the weather, the fashion, and everything about the season. Do you have any family traditions? One of the best things of the season is the rush of nostalgia that comes with the memories of your childhood and previous holiday seasons! Does this happen to you? And what would a childhood be without some classic Nickelodeon?

Enjoy these classic Nick memories:

I hope this brings back a rush of memories and happiness like they do for me. If only for a little while we can be kids again.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Nickelodeon Bumpers

Hey guys! What's been going on? Well, for me, not too much. I am pretty much on summer vacation. And I am loving every bit of it. I haven't done much but relax but it's well deserved.

This blog post is going to be about Nickelodeon bumpers. Who doesn't remember those awesome ones from back in the 90's and early 00's? Nickelodeon bumpers today can't even compare.

Almost every Nick character had a spot on a bumper and some of them even had their own. Back then the bumpers had character and meaning. They were awesome to watch.
It wasn't focused on just one show (spongebob) like it is now. The jingles that some of them had were awesome too!  Here are just a few

Doo Wop Dinosaurs:

Do you remember any of these? I am sure you do. Which Nickelodeon bumper was your favorite? Leave it in the comment section below.

Until next time!

Figure It Out

Hey everyone,

I am going to give my review of the new rebooted version of the classic Nick show "Figure It Out."

Well, the first thing that has changed about the show is logo. I like the new logo, but it seems just kinda.....blah. Maybe I am a little too bias since I grew up with the original logo. What do you think?

Original Logo

 New Logo

The next thing that is gone is the head thing that they would put the answers up on. Now it's just flat screens. My feelings about this is that is one thing they should of left that in the game. That kinda just takes a little nostalgia away from it for those of us who already know the show.

My overall feeling of the show though is-- I really did like it. Some of the basic things about the show are still there. With some major things that aren't , like Summer Sanders isn't hosting the show. I do like the new host though. And I understand the Nick celebs have to be the ones currently on the network. But I hope they at least do one show with classic nick celebs. How awesome would that be?

Until next time guys! And remember to watch "Figure It Out" on Nickelodeon at 7pm!

Nick Jr. When I was Young.

Before we start watching TV that is aimed at older children, we watch preschool channels. And back in the day Nick Jr was the spot to go. And I have to say back then they had the BEST preschool shows on TV. Some of my favorites consisted of : Eureeka's Castle,Allegra's Window,Gullah Gullah Island,Little Bear,Muppet Babies. I also watched Blue's Clue's but I was like 8 when that first began, but it was a like able show that even older kids liked to watch.

Now with a child of my own, it is even more important to me to find programming that is not only good tv but apprioate. Since you will be watching tv with your child you want the show to catch your interest. You don't want to be sitting there thinking "God this show sucks!"  I can't tell you how many times I've seen a show on that my daughter likes and I hate it. I end up changing it. I feel like I am brainwashing my child to like stupid shows.

A long with Nickelodeon, Nick Jr has also gone downhill. Most of us will all agree Dora is probably the WORST show on Nick Jr. I am Mexican myself so watching this is a pain in my you know what! Half the things Dora says are incorrect and the way the are presented makes me feel like my IQ level has gone down. I also can't stand Max and Ruby. Ruby is a bitch (excuse my french) and thinks she is the mother or something. And speaking of mother.....where in the hell are their parents? NEVER once have they shown them. They have shown the grandmother--who lives like a block away. Are these preschoolers home alone? ALL DAY?!?!?! Max gets me irritated because he never listens and then when he gets caught they laugh. That to me is a big NO NO!! He needs his tail whipped. And on top of that he steals on just about every episode and there is never a consequence for that. Team Umizoomi-- We NEVER watch that. Just as stupid. and Olivia she is another brat I can't stand!

I am a fan of Yo Gabba Gabba,Backyardigans,Dino Dan, Peppa Pig, and a couple others. But that's where it mostly stops. We hardly ever watch any of the newer shows on Nick Jr. I usually stick with Sprout.

But this is my rant of Nick Jr. Thanks for reading!

Nick Arcade!

Nick Arcade!

Who remembers the game show on Nickelodeon....Nick Arcade? While I didn't get to watch when it first came out, I watched the reruns on Nick and then later on Nickelodeon Gas ( an old TV network that showed nothing but Nick game shows).

The host of the show was Phil Moore. It would be 2 teams playing 2 rounds and the winner would play against the "video game  wizard of the day".

Some of the games they would play were things like Meteoroids,Laser Surgeon, Jet Jocks, and Star Defenders.

If you were the team that had the most points at the end of the round you would get control of "Mikey, the Video Adventurer".

Casts of Clarissa Explains It All, Salute Your Shorts, and Welcome Freshman also made guest appearances on the show.

Joey Fatone (member of Nysnc) also made an appearance before he was a member of Nsync! His team did not win.

 Here is Joey Fatone's episode:
